Booking a hotel in London for tomorrow night

Need to book myself a night in London tomorrow. Just me, not particularly fussy on exactly where, just need to be central. Am I likely to get better price options if I wait until tomorrow morning, or should I just do it now?

W1 for work on Fri afternoon, but can stay anywhere. Lived in London for years, so i know where I'm going, but I don't know if the prices will go up or down!
