Hoping for some great recommendations for our next holiday in August.

Have three dc, 6, 4 and 1. Want to have a holiday where there is lots of outdoor space in lovely countryside for the older two to explore plus decent indoor play barn and swimming pool.

Would love some help as am spending too long on this!

have a look at Wringworthy cottages in Looe. our kids really enjoyed it here. they have an outdoor heated swimming pool a huge childrens playbarn and lots of acres of land which the kids went for picnics and star gazing in. they also have farm animals which you feed twice a day. www.wringworthy.co.uk

We went to Bosinver when ours were 2 and 3 and it was great BUT it is pricey so haven't ventured back.

Try pagal in France - very kiddy friendly

Poltarrow Farm is about 1600 for a family of 4 for a week in Cornwall, but it's fab for children.

Pembrokeshire is really lovely, near Tenby there's a great holiday type place I've been told about, but most costal caravan sites can offer what you need (we went to one on the llyn peninsular years back not far from snowdon)

For freedom the western isles are hard to beat- safe, unpolluted, uncrowned, sparse traffic. But you have to risk the weather.

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/04/2019 18:03

Look at wild camping (basically "off grid") in Scotland.

No idea what a Playbarn is but Shetland has freedom and superb swimming pools
