Anyone know journey time from Hastings to Brighton, please?

Hiya,

I have an appointment tomorrow morning 8.55 at Sussex Eye Hospital in Brighton.

I was gonna go by car and leave Hastings at 7 but a couple of people today have told me that it would be better to go by train as the morning traffic is unpredictable.

Is this the case??
Does anyone know?
I suppose I would hit rush traffic, but what about going earlier?

I hope someone can help me.

the A27 is really really snarled up. apparently.it always is but thre are now roadworks..
have you looked on south eastrn trains website for times? if that is what it is called

Cammelia · 26/06/2007 22:15

There#s a big hold up at Beddingham where they are building a flyover to eventually get traffic over the railway. However the train station in Brighton is a long way from the eye hospital so you will need a taxi.
Also what are going to the eye hosp for? If its anything requiring drops for example you might not be able to see brilliantly for a few hours?

Cammelia · 26/06/2007 22:16

Also its a nightmare parking anywhere near the hosp

archiesmummy · 26/06/2007 22:21

Thank you all.
Good point Cammelia about the eye drops. Of course I won't be able to drive after.

I remember last time (not in brighton) I couldn't read anything or focus for a couple of hours...

Did it all work out Archiesmummy?

archiesmummy · 28/06/2007 14:51

Oh thanx for asking.

Yes, we took the train and no 7 bus and got there just in time, then had to sit and wait for 40 minutes with wriggly toddler .

And, yes, they did give me eye drops so I couldn't have driven for hours after...

Nothing seriously wrong I hope

archiesmummy · 28/06/2007 17:54

Not sure Cammelia, some scarring to the back of the eye . Doc said not to worry and they will check again in 6 months time to see if there is any change.

Sorry to hear that

They're good at the eye hospital, aren't they Archiesmummy? I had to go there 3 weeks ago, scratched my cornea. Fortunately my friend works on the reception desk, so I got in & seen quickly.

Did you see the poster called 'Noah visits the eye hospital'? The little boy Noah, is my friend's son!!

archiesmummy · 28/06/2007 18:46

Thank you cammelia, but it might be fine, just have to wait and see.

PestoMonster, no didn't see the poster. Will look out for it next time.
Yeah, the Eye Hospital is great, the doctor I saw was really good and explained everything to me..
