Hi. We're looking to go away as a family for my son's 6th birthday, but can't find anywhere open in January. We stayed overnight at Legoland last year for his big brother's birthday, but Legoland isn't open in January!! Can anyone suggest somewhere for a UK weekend break that will be fun and special for a 6 year old?? xx

Center Parcs have good deals on in January- lots of activities and the indoor swimming

We did an overnight stay in Birmingham with my dc and they loved it. We bought combi tickets for the Lego Discovery Centre and the sea life centre, which together took up a full day. The following day we went to the excellent ThinkTank science museum and took them indoor rock climbing. Cadbury world opens in the last couple of weeks in January, which could add another element to your trip.

Bristol has the @Bristol science/museum and also the Brunel ship both of which I think are open in January.
