hi,
we are going to stratford at the end of july and have an 8 year old ds and a 1 year old ds, what are good things to do or see that will keep them happy and not break the bank.

luckily ds1 is interested in shakespear at the moment due to his "apperance" in Dr Who a few weeks ago!!

any info gratefully recieved.
thankyou

There is a good picnic ground/playground on the south bank of the river, near the bridge. (Have just come back from visiting family near there.)

definately go to the playground - its fantastic but you'll need the swim gear too for the paddling pool.

theres a butterfly farm - small but nice.

just walking along the river by the canal and watch boats - there will be street entertainers to keep the dcs entertained.

theres a river boat taxi (never done) but your eldest might like it.

plenty of ducks to feed

great sweet shop in one of the indoor shop areas - can't remember which one but its near shakesperes house where you buy your sweets from the jars. nice coffee shop next door too.

theres a ragdoll productions shop (rosie&jim, in a night garden etc)

if you want to travel out of stratford - go to Hatton Country World - animals, adventure playground, shops, etc.
