I thought this looked pretty good and was thinking the stepkids would enjoy it but DH isn't sure, has anyone had any experience of them? It would only cost £25 each as we get wftc and it's fully inclusive!

More info here if anyone else is interested - it's for 10-17 year olds across the country during the summer hols, price is £25 for those on income supprt/WFTC, £100 for those earning under £58000 and £399 for those over. They even provide transport to camp!!

Wow, sounds great, and cheaper than Guide camp!!

schneebly · 15/06/2007 13:59

My brother went to one when he was younger and said it was great. Sounds worth teh money to me!

Looks fab, have bookmarked the site for next year.

The nearest to them is a watersports extreme one, but near us it's film and media - I'll have to ring them tonight but I can't see the places lasting long at this price, it's cheaper than feeding them for a week in the school hols!

Anyone got any experience - would love to put DH's mind at ease.

I'd do it if my kids were old enough

Thanks for this bubblerock, I'm really interested for my DSs. I looked at another outward bound type company that 2/3 of mine have been to however my middle DS would love the film and media and it's within easy travelling distance. Are you near Haworth then? BTW to put your DHs mind at ease, my two LOVED the outward bounds camp they went on, didn't want to come home, I was really shocked TBH middle DS is always really homesick and not particularly sporty but the highlight of his week was a 6am jog which ended with him being ordered to throw himself into a freezing cold Ullswater! This is a great idea, I'm going to have a look.

My son went went on one last year I think it was the one in somerset. He really enjoyed it,the food wasn't that brilliant but everything else was great.

bubblerock · 15/06/2007 19:19

I'm reminiscing (sp?) with DH about our school camps now lol - I went to The wilderness and Duporth and it was wicked, the food was pretty crap but I had a great time! I just think we'd be mad to miss out on this at this price - make sure you tell anyone else that might be interested too!
