Cheap city break in early Oct- does such a thing exist?

Looking to do a weekend away in early October

Bargainous would be good!
We live in Yorkshire and would be happy for a 2 hour car journey, train or cheap plane (do these exist anymore?)

We’ll be in between houses by then and living in rented and I expected well all like a bit of respite.

I had a look for a cheap city break. But couldn’t find any bargainous flights. Are they not a thing anymore?

I did Amsterdam early last Oct and the flights were v reasonable. Though we splurged on hotel.

Was great though. Beautiful city!!

My parents live in Yorkshire and have done a couple of weekend trips by ferry from Hull, eg Amsterdam and bruges. You sleep on the boat there and back (but can have a night in hotel in-between). I think it's pretty good value.

By train, Edinburgh always gets my vote for a weekend break.

Hull?

I kid you not, I had an awesome weekend in Hull last year and nobody was more surprised by it than me!!

Hull! We travelled through Hull to our ferry this summer , we did Hull -Zeebrugge en route to our holiday Itscalled but not sure I’d actually want it as a destinationsinging. Though it does have a fab aquarium and was city of culture a few years ago Shock

w4yty not been to Amsterdam in years!

What airport would you fly from? From Leeds Bradford 5-8 October there's Pisa, Lithuania and Slovakia for £50 each return.

Me again!

Slightly more exciting than Hull ... LBA has some good flights to Malaga, which is good for a short break.

Lovely old winding streets to explore, lots of squares and fountains, museums, cathedral, fortress, beaches, arts (Picasso museum, Pompidou Centre, Centre of Contemporary Art), restaurants and shopping!

Change of plan... we’re going to Brighton!
My brother lives there and we’ve not seen him for a while, this seemed like a great opportunity to.

Thanks for all your exciting suggestions... they’ll have to wait till
Next time!
