Self catering in/ near Fowey wanted

This is the last holiday thread I shall post - I promise, cos I am losing the will here

All other options mentioned before on previous threads have been gratefully received and investigated but have not proved fruitful for 1 reason or another (availability/ facilities etc.) so we are now looking for self catering in or around Fowey.

We need 3 bedrooms and a pool if possible. Oh, and 2 bathrooms or at least 1 en-suite (family friend coming and wants own bathroom/ loo & bath)

It has to be suitable for a 3yo dd too.

I wish i'd just suggested we go abroad, it has to be easier to organise ?

When do you need it for? If you wanted, say August, you might be looking for 3 years hence!

Oops, sorry ! I forgot ...

We are looking for the 1st week in September, 2nd week as an alternative.

That's been the problem with a lot of places, no availability - I know we've left it too late

tillyboo, I am following your holiday search around the boards it seems!

I have found you a great place, www.southtorfreyfarm.com. It is 3 miles from Fowey. Great for kids. 4 cottages, Mulberry sleeps 6 (double and 2 twins) and has 2-3 bathrooms. There is a pool, and it looks like there is availability w/c 7 Sept £650.

Good luck!

dd is here at the moment www.tredethick.co.uk/

I think it can be quite pricey and gets book up quickly but apparently its the bees knees - on a farm and loads to do

Bluesky - I know, it's really embarrassing .

I thought I'd cracked it yesterday and found a lovely place if a tad expensive but dh & friend aren't too keen.

I felt like saying 'Do the search your bloody selves, I've had it' !

Thanks to you & Julestoo - I'm off now to investigate your suggestions.

Tillyboo, that's brill!!

I've been out all day, but just thought I'd check in to see if you had at last found a holiday!

Well done, you'll have to give us a Mumsnet report when you come back.

If your friend is really kind and babysits one night, I recommend that you and dh go to Fowey Hall just for dinner. It's a lovely treat; drink and canapes beforehand, very relaxing, great view and stunning food. (And at only 3 miles from Fowey, you could even manage a taxi fare!)

It's such a sense of relief to finally find somewhere and get it booked, I know, it took me ages to find our holiday in Pembrokeshire for August, either everything is booked and then it's hard as you don't know the area etc. It takes forever sometimes.
