One night, near midlands with 70 y/o and 5y/o

My D/M is 70 in November, we are thinking of booking a night away as a family, so it will be her, my family including 5yo ds and my dsis. DM like to complain and won't want to walk far if we go out so ideally we need an attraction nearby we can all enjoy and somewhere to stay with really good food that doesn't cost the earth. I'm a bit stuck for ideas can anyone help ?

It's only a B&B but it's really well placed and within walking distance of some outstanding restaurants and pubs. It's also really close to Peak Wildlife Park and Rudyard Lake Steam Railway, which my DS loved.

That looks nice, but she wouldn't know emma bridgewater if someone came up and stamped print all over her ! I'd love it though.

I don’t think it matters if she knows Emma Brridgewater honestly OP. My DM likes bone China but loved going to EB, painting pots, having a quick look around the small garden and having lunch.

The railway at Rudyard Lake doesn't run for many days in November.

I really like walking round Rudyard Lake but if your DM dislikes walking far it is a non-starter!

Roughly when in November? Chatsworth House starts it's Christmas season on 10th November. The house is always decorated in a particular theme which would also be fun for children too. In the past it has been things like Wind in the Willows, Narnia. This years theme hasn't been announced but I heard a rumour it would be fairy stories. Anyway it is usually pretty spectacular. Also they have a very good Christmas market for 2 to 3 weeks. Don't know the exact dates this year but it's usually from mid November

Well worth a visit but would involve a fair bit of walking.
If your DM has walking problems, would she/you consider a wheelchair or mobility scooter?
I suggested it for my D sis on a weekend break several years ago and it changed her life!
Google Shopmobility for towns/cities to loan a scooter for a few hours or your/her local Red Cross will loan you a manual wheelchair for a donation (or free if hirer can't afford it).
