After posting several threads I've been trawling through MN suggestions and the internet and came up with this hotel www.foweyhallhotel.co.uk/default_hotels_fowey.asp

I'm just hoping they'll have some availabilty so just wondering if anyone has experienced this hotel - or is it too good to be true, it sounds perfect !
Please, please say it's all good - otherwise I give up and will pitch a tent on the hard shoulder of the M4

It is lovely Tillyboo, we have been there twice now, once when the boys were small and then again taking in-laws when boys were 10 and 6.

Rooms are spacious, staff are very kind, lots of toys and games, swimming pool is lovely and warm, food is stunning, Fowey is a great place. The hotel has fantastic views, it is near Eden project and beaches to visit.

Yep! I'd go again!

god that sounds divine.
i am starting a campaign to get dp to think its his idea we should go there...

It is a lovely hotel in a gorgeous setting but to be honest we were bored rigid. The most excitement on offer was staring at log fires of an evening. That being said, there's nothign wrong with log fires!

F'ing Ell' - worked out price and it's blooming expensive !

God I'm so bored with searching, I had no idea what a pain it would be to find a holiday in the UK. I am getting seriously naffed off with the whole thing.

Whilst I said that budget wasn't that important as it's our main holiday (on some other thread somewhere .... lost track to be honest), it would cost an arm and a leg to stay there for a week.

So, dh has said we should find a luxury cottage for the same money or less - and it'd be cheaper as 3 adults would be splitting the cost as opposed to forking out for 2 hotel rooms IYSWIM.

Still looking at Fowey as it seems lovely and accessible to lots of places to go and visit.

Aghhhhh .......... the search goes on for a lovely cottage now

Tillyboo, look at Niche

We went there in November for 2 nights, dinner, b & b and it was arounf £350, dread to think how much it would cost in the summer season

We have been there twice, both quite a long time ago when DD1 was a toddler and we could take advantage of cheap out-of-season rates. We absolutely loved it, would go again like a shot but can no longer afford it as prices are astronomical in school holiday time. We also went to its sister hotel Moonfleet Manor as a 40th birthday treat for me, I loved that almost more. They really are great for children and being able to put them to bed and go downstairs for posh dinner and a nice sit in front of a roaring fire is bliss in my book.
