Where to stop overnight between london and cornwall?

Hi, looking for ideas of places me and dp could stop over night, maybe two nights in nice town when we travel back from Cornwall to London. Preferably very easy to reach from the motorway route! looking for somewhere relatively halfway between the two. We've been to Bath and Bristol which are both lovely but any suggestions would be great?!

If you came up the A303 you could stop at Salisbury?

Exeter is quite lovely and worth a visit.

I really like Frome. It’s a mixture of standard Somerset town and hipster central. Loads of independent shops and cafes, a little cinema and arts centre, lots of nice country pubs nearby.
Wells is lovely too - the cathedral is really worth a visit.
