we want to go for a long weekend and will have a 2yr old and a 5 yr old - flexible on location but prefereably somewhere picturesque!

TIA

I can highly recommend Nailey Farm, near Marshfield (about 15 mins from Bath). Beautiful location (absolutely stunning views), cottages of a really high standard and friendly animals. Definitely worth a look.

Oops - just realised that you wanted a hotel. Nailey is self-catering...

or indeed here?

Knowing the area well would stay around Cheddar / Wedmore / Wookey way meself and then go into Bath for the day, mind you I'm not a city type so you may feel differently.

We've just got back from a week in Cheddar (and I was raised close by) and it is a good base for sightseeing etc

You might find this site helpful - just select "Places to Stay" under the category and search via keyword eg Bath or postcode

Have a good break.

Manicmama, had a look on your site for good hotels in Exeter - there are three - does the fact that they're on there mean they've been recommended by a parent? There are no actual comments as such.

Thanks!

Sorry for hijack BTW, Donnie. I would really recommend Woolley Grange as recommended by Bluesky, if your budget will stretch to it. It's fab.

donnie · 06/06/2007 14:36

wish we could afford that bluesky!

Fauve - no they are not recommended - just places I have found out about that cater for kids. The site is just a platform where parents can say whether they like a place or not. Hope that answers your question
