Hoping to do 3 nights near Windsor to fit in Legoland though we then want to do 4 nights somewhere else probably within 2 hours drive? Any recommendations. For 2 adults/2kids age 9 and 6

We live fairly near Windsor and last year we enjoyed a few days near Woburn Safari Park. It would have taken about 1hr30 to get there if we went direct, but we stopped at the excellent Bekonscot Model Village which the DC loved. It's not much of a detour. We spent one full day at the safari park and another day at Woburn Abbey (the dc especially enjoyed the large hedge maze). We also went to Bletchley Park where there are tonnes of interactive exhibits and the kids learnt loads. There's also a family trail around the museum and a playground and picnic area. Gulliver's Land is also in that area but you might find that's too much after Legoland!

What about West Midlands?
Black Country Museum
or
Ironbridge Museums

Dudley Zoo
or
West Midlands Safari Park

or a day or 2 in Birmingham from the same base

New Forest? Beaulieu, boat to IOW, beaches, walks, ponies and deer.
