Looking for something to do on the drive from London to Norwich

We are driving from north London to Norwich one day in the summer hols to pick up DH and drive on to friends. Think it will be good to stop and do something for a couple/few hours to break up the journey. Maybe something on the A11.... anyone know this neck of the woods. DC are 11and 9. Thanks

It's only a couple of hours from North London to Norwich. We don't normally stop but I guess you could stop at Elvedon.

As pp says, it's only a couple of hours' journey so not really any need to stop. But if we're breaking up a longer journey then High Lodge at Thetford is our usual choice.

The Imperial War Museum Duxford isn't far off your journey and I'd highly recommend it for kids of any age.
A little bit further on, at Newmarket, there's Wild Tracks activity centre just a stone's throw from the main road. They offer go karting, quad biking and archery.
Wicked Fen and The National Dragonfly Project is a bit further from the main road, also near Newmarket. It's great for some fresh air and a leg stretch. There are bikes to hire, boat trips and a sweet little cafe.

Just play Yellow Car.

Audley End House is near Saffron Walden and is really super too. I think Anglesey Abbey is meant to be really nice too.

There’s also definitely stuff like paint balling off the A11, and I think Go Ape is near there too.
