Best place to base ourselves for a holiday on North Norfolk Coast

We're considering a holiday to North Norfolk in early September. We don't know the area at all, so looking for recommendations of where to look for a holiday rental. We'd prefer not to be in the car all the time, so would like to base ourselves within half an hour/40 mins of a good range of things to do.

We like a bit of luxury, sea views, independent shops etc. We have young DCs, so it needs to be family friendly. Everyone says how nice Wells is, so is that a good place to be near to or a town like Burnham Market?

Any recommendations of places or holiday homes (min 6 people) would be greatly appreciated.

Love North Norfolk. Base yourself near Holkham/Wells next the Sea/Holt/Sheringham. Tons to do, beautiful beaches. Holt is a fab town with lovely restaurants and pubs and a nice general store. Lovely farm shop and cafe near too.

We stayed at Langham Lodge this Easter which was gorgeous but may be too big for you.

We've stayed in Dorking - short drive from the sea so a bit cheaper. Very central and lots to do in a radius from there. Really beautiful part of England.

Ooh Langham Lodge looks fab @NC4T. Def my cup of tea!

Wells is probably where I'd recommend basing yourself because it's half way between Hunstanton and Sherringham/Cromer, both of which have some good days out. We stayed about 3 miles south of Wells, here www.nutwoodlodges.co.uk/sunnyside-lodge
Holkham Hall is a great trip out with young children.

It's a bit of a trek from
North Norfolk, but if you have under 10's I can thoroughly recommend spending a day out at Bwilderwood.

I second Bewilderwood and it's only about 40 mins from Langham Lodge area. I also recommend hiring a beach hut for the day at swells, I have someone's email if that would be helpful (not affiliated, just someone I have hired one from).

At Wells, that should say!

those beach huts at Wells are gorgeous!! I never knew you could hire one.

Thank you so much for all the recommendations. I will start my search around Wells. Bewilderwood looks great, will def try and get there. Thanks again.
