Not sure what the areas are like these days?! Just for a cheap 2 night break with our little girl....

Which is the nicest area?

Thanks

I believe the St Leonard’s Cove Park is in Stoke Fleming.

So Paignton VS Stoke Fleming area?!!

Is it Devon Hills that you’re looking at? If so, it’s not actually in Paignton. More between Paignton and Totnes so you need to drive to get to beaches, zoo etc. Lovely countryside though and there’s a decent shop and leisure complex on site. I used to work there last year and it was generally a nice, quiet site compared to a lot old other Hoseasons resorts!

I’ve been to the St Leonard’s Cove one too for work. It’s a lot smaller and leisure complex etc is smaller but still nice. Again it’s a drive into Dartmouth but there’s some lovely spots you can walk to from the complex.

Also now seen park at Budleigh Salterton?

No idea about these areas? Anyone know Devon well?

Thanks :-)

I don’t know the Budleogh Salterton area I’m afraid. Which bits are most important to you? Paignton and Dartmouth are pretty close together so you can easily visit either town from either of the first two parks. They’re both out of town and in lovely countryside. St Leonard’s Cove has got lovely sea views and Devon Hills has got lovely views of the hills and accross to Dartmoor.

Lovely, thank you.

The Paignton Park is Berverly Park.

I’ve heard Paignton itself is a little run down?

I don't know much about Beverley Park, but I have been to Paignton lots. I wouldn't waste time in Paignton town centre, but Brixham and Torquay Marina are great for a wander.
Goodrington beach in Paignton is lovely and clean, lots of space to run around. Good beach cafes.
Paignton Zoo is definitely worth a visit, as is the Living Coast in Torquay.
Good buses to hop on to all round the bay. Dartmouth is so pretty. The steam train to Kingswear is an adventure.
Spent many happy weekends in that area Smile

I’ve worked at Beverly Park too, although nearly a decade ago! It’s on the top of a massive hill, you can walk to Goodrongton beach but it’s a bit of a slog back up. The steam train goes from Goodrington too and there’s the water park and Young’s park which is good for kids.

Beverly park is (or was in 2006) all caravans rather than lodges. The leisure complex is on the small side but the entertainment is usually the best in the bay.

Paignton itself is definitely run down but the geopark on the front is brilliant for little ones. The beach is always pretty clean and dog free in the summer. The pubs along the front are all pretty gritty though and is definitely steer clear.

Thank you.

Now considering Ladram Bay at Budleigh Salterton!
