WHere to stay in Liverpool?

My sister and I meeting in July gig at Pier Head.
Would really love a recommendation on where best to stay don’t know the areas at all.

There are a lot of hotels very close to the Pier Head including 30 St. James Street and the Hilton. There is also a Premier Inn at the Albert Dock, which is very close too. Many people seem to like the Titanic but it's a bit out of the way.
