We're in Surrey and would like a hotel in those kind of areas. Unfortunately, it's just for one night and most want two. Has anyone stayed here: westoverhallhotel.com/public/flash/plyr8/index.html
Definitely not Brighton - which I do like but more country house, maybe near a village with a pub up the road. Will eat at hotel so good food etc. Spa not necessary, maybe access to horse riding would be good. Thanks in advance.

How much are you wanting to spend and what night? We live in mid sussex and there are quite a few nice country house hotels around here and some do special offers on sunday nights too...

Preferably a Saturday night. Money wise - about £5/600 with dinner. Thanks.

Ashdown park hotel
The one in Cuckfield (can't remember what it's called) oh yes - Ockenden Manor

Alexander House Hotel?

Well, there is a group of hotels which include Ockenden Manor in Cuckfield, The Spread Eagle in Midhurst, and something else in Climping which are good. The last two have spas. Ashdown Park hotel on Ashdown Forest (Winnie the Pooh's home!, South Lodge at ?Lower Beeding. Alexander House in Turners Hill, Gravetye Manor not sure where but near East Grinstead. All of those are quite traditional. If you want nice and shops how about Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells. Also is a bit more modern..
By the way I don't work for the Mid Sussex tourist board - I am just ever hopeful that my DH will take me away for a night and do something nice and romantic...have a nice time where ever you go.
The othet place to have a look is Alastair Sawday website - have hotels, V nice b&bs etc

Thanks very much - I'll have a look at all the suggestions.

mistersmum · 14/05/2007 20:11

That's fine- I should have put punctuation in to make it clearer! But wasn't sure if you could when I did my name!

sykes · 14/05/2007 20:15

Have been to Bailiffs Court and it is lovely - would prefer somewhere else but thanks in advance.
