Hi, I'm looking for suggestions on places in this area that are dog friendly. We thought perhaps a walk round Chatsworth estate/gardens (although we've already done it) and someone else suggested the Heights of Abraham. Any other ideas?

Places other than the miles and miles of open countryside all around you mean? Confused Are you looking for somewhere to let the off the leash?

No. Places around the town that are dog friendly, particularly Bakewell. Nice stately homes gardens or estates that allow dogs.

We live in acres and acres of open countryside, so kind of want something different but dog friendly. One dog is actually allergic to grass, so better on tracks or paths. Ideas for dog friendly pubs for lunch would be good too.

The cafe at The Green Pavillion is dog friendly.
Dogs are allowed in the country park at Poole's Cavern. Also the country park at Lyme Park house, Bakewell Old House Museum, The Pavilion Gardens, Peveril Castle and Trentham Gardens. Dogs are allowed on the Peak Rail steam trains. They're also allowed on the lower decks of the trams at Crich Tramway Village AND on board the 2-hour Birdswood canal boat trips.

Thanks RiceKrispie22, that's just the sort of things I wanted.

Wyes Waters Tea Rooms is Dog Friendly in Bakewell. Great places to visit with Dogs are Thornbridge Hall, Chatsworth and Arbor Low. For accommodation look at Peak Venues. They have about 50 properties most of which are dog friendly. Best pubs are the Royal Oak at Hurdlow and Manners in Bakewell.
