Hi we are looking to go somewhere for our special wedding a/v in Sept. We love Thorpeness near Aldeburgh love walks, pretty village atmosphere, quaint shops, tea rooms and a nice pub! Any suggestions for somewhere similar, pref in Suffolk/ Norfolk. Looking for a 5 bedroom house to share with family and friends. Something quirky would be nice. Thank you.

Framlingham?
Or Hoxne? Or Lavenham?
Southwold?

Why not just go to Thorpness?

Orford is lovely, pretty village and two nice pubs.

Just feel like a change from Thorpeness and the house we normally rent is booked anyway. Will look at the suggested places, Lavenham would make me sad, it was the last place we took our son to before he died in 1994. Thank you all.

I'd suggest Nayland in the Stour valley on the Essex/Suffolk border www.grove-cottages.co.uk/about/Nayland/. It has a couple of lovely pubs. The Anchor is very cosy with big open fires and extremely friendly... It has its own smokehouse and the food is excellent. Loads of events held there too. www.anchornayland.co.uk
Nayland has a local stores and a couple of quirky gift/knick knack shops (see pictures), a tea room and a farm shop www.lowerdairyfarm.co.uk/farm-shop-essex/.
Plenty of nice walks in Constable country and Pilgrim's Way.

Yes, Dedham/Flatford/Naylamd would be great.
Or Orford is lovely. Woodbridge is great but a bit bigger, still very quaint though.
