Centre Parcs Longleat...worth it or overrated?!

Hi all,

We’re looking at short breaks in UK, Hoseasons Devon and considering Centre Parcs, although a little pricier!

Had anyone been and is Centre Parcs overrated or worth it (with 6 yr old) - most people I know enjoy it apart from a friend I recently spoke to!

I love Center Parcs. It is expensive but it depends what you want out of a holiday. I go because DS loves the pool and we ride our bikes. I love seeing the wildlife and I like that I can eat out on site.
I see Center Parcs as a little but very expensive holiday bubble. Everything is available on site.

We love CP at Longleat - loads of wildlife, great pool, great sports hall. Lots of fun. Quite hilly.

Pricey, but always feels like a proper break.. Would only go for a short break though, weekend or mid-week.

We have had a few trips to CP over the years. To be honest Longleat wasn’t our favourite, mainly due to everything being so spread out. We preferred Elveden as it has a central hub. The pools are fab and get very busy, as do the activities so pre-book any that you particularly want to do. CP is a lovely holiday but very expensive if you are tied to school holidays etc. Eating out is very expensive, but you can self cater the villas have good cooking facilities. It’s worth trying if you haven’t been before. As our children are nearly 17 and 15 we tend to hire cottages now. But we all have lovely memories of past CP holidays. What didn’t your friend like about CP?

Dais has done CP longleat but prefers Bluestone. Apparently there is loads more to do. I've not done CP but can confirm Bluestone is epic. Pool is the only thing that's better in CP. It's still good though.

Went to Bluestone once - a MN favourite - did not see why. Miles out of the way, middle of nowhere, accommodation damp. Activities were great - and pricey.

We love CP. It is expensive. Especially if you go in the holidays and the restaurants there are pricy. The accommodation is nice and clean and you know what you're getting. The free activities are great but you need to utilise them. If yore going for a short break you need to get their earlier than check in to avoid the queues and utilise everything on offer as it extends the break. There are a few blogs out there with photos and reviews which help to get more of an idea about what it's like.
