May Trip to London for DH 30th

Hi all, planning a trip to London mid May for DHs 30th birthday, will be the 2 of us plus our 2 year old DS. I'm trying to find reasonably priced, central acc. which would ideally have a small slightly separate living area so that we can watch telly and have a drink/dinner while LO sleeping in the evenings. Can anyone recommend anywhere? Also, any good ideas on what to visit with 2 yo and family friendly restaurants? Thanks in advance!

The best good-value hotel chain that I've come across with one-bedroom suites is Park Plaza. I'd say that they're one step up from the Premier Inn/Novotel/Holiday Inn type hotels, which is ideal for a special birthday. Park Plaza Riverbank, Park Plaza Waterloo and Plaza on the River are all central London branches with one-bedroom suites. We've stayed at Riverbank and found it spotless and the staff went the extra mile for us.
