Need a break, don't want to fly if we can avoid it. Budget is about £500-600 for 3 or 4 days plus spending money but would happily spend less!

We are in S Yorks so don't want to travel to South coast but anywhere else OK.

Obviously weather is a consideration...

It is really only Centreparcs that is an option? DCs are 6 and 3yrs.

Just checked the prices for a midweek (4 night) stay at Landal Darwin Forest. There are some 4-person two bedroom chalets left for half term week for £503.
Large indoor swimming pool, indoor supervised archery, indoor soft play centre with cafe plus all your standard outdoor activities like mini golf...
For you, there's the spa and wellness centre, amusement hall with pool and other games, restaurant, bar and takeaway options.

Here's the Landal link www.landal.com/parks/darwin-forest

Edinburgh city break, air bnb - fab

Youth Hostel in Haworth - bleakest most miserable cold "holiday" ever

NT cottage Lake District - High Strawberry Gardens - lovely

NT house at Rhossili on the Gower

Wishlist

Kielder Forest and Observatory - staying in a yurt at Wild Northumbrian

Cul Na Shee cottage on Saddell Bay just across from Arran

Paris or Amsterdam Mini break

The common theme is most of these are no such thing as bad weather places. Accepting that coal fires/stoves/wellies and woollies are going to be part of it.

Your children are the perfect age for butlins skegness and your budget is spot on. Phone them and haggle though.

Oh some very good tips here. Can’t do Darwin forest (although I agree it’s great) but MIL lives close and we go regularly (she’s a member) so would be strange to ‘holiday’ there.

Don’t think DH would do Butlins as used to as a child and wasn’t a fan!

Keep the ideas coming tho please as I am very appreciative!
