Center Parcs with toddler and baby - Woburn or Elveden?

We live inbetween these two so they are about the same travelwise. They are about the same price in February, which is when we are thinking of going.

Do they both have good swimming areas for toddlers? Will Elveden be too big to get around on foot? (Baby will be too young to go in a bike trailer). Also a lot of the reviews on TripAdvisor say that the Elveden lodges were dirty - do we need to pay extra for something a bit nicer?

Center parts is great for kids! Only been to sherwood tho so can't comment I'm afraid

I'd definitely go to Woburn - every time I've ever been to elvedon the villas have a damp smell in the bedrooms :/ ..... Woburn is just newer and glossier and easier to walk around in my opinion.

Only down side of Woburn is that there is bugger all wildlife whereas when I was at elevdon in September we had squirrels, deer, moorhens and a heron at our villa door for feeding :)

My friend has been to both and recommended Woburn to me so we'll be there in Feb too. She said it was newer and smaller so easier to get around with little ones. She also said they didn't do any activities as the dc just wanted to stay in the pool. Mine are 6, 3, 1 and hers are similar. She said it is probably too small and not enough going on for older dcbut perfect for littler ones.

I did ore xmas at elvedon last year but stayed in new apartments - which were weeks old and totally lovely!
Enjoyed the swimming area, lots of wildlife and the fact it was flat! We got bikes as was quite a distance from apartments to main area.

Other than that we did longleat in summer. That isn't flat and is huge! (But have a landtrain).

OK thanks, think we will go for Woburn then. Shame we will miss the wildlife at Elveden, but Woburn being easy to walk around sounds good to me.

Been to both recently and I found the pool at Elveden better and bigger for kids also it seems much warmer. Went to Woburn in November and the pool seemed cold to me.

Been going to CP for 14 years.
Elveden has a much bigger pool area for toddlers and we prefer it generally. Went to Woburn just after it opened. Very small pool and toddler pool area. Great for older kids and adults as it has scary water slides with giant tubes etc
Longest much too hilly and to get to the kids club and main play park involved some serious uphill and downhill paths. Not great with a buggy or bikes.

Longleat not Longest🙄

After a few mediocre stays at CPs, we've had better experiences at Whitemead Forest Park in Gloucestershire and Darwin Forest Country Park in the Peak District.

Whitemead has a toddler pool and Darwin doesn't. Both have indoor play areas, but the one at Darwin knocks the socks off Whitemead's.

I found an independent review of Darwin here whosthemummy.co.uk/2016/09/review-darwin-forest-country-park-derbyshire.html and this is the website www.darwinforest.co.uk

We've only been to Elveden; enjoyed it.
I came on to say that if you're worried about getting around, you can choose a specific villa for another £50. It's worth it when you're spending £500+ anyway.

We went to Woburn for the first time a month ago, having been Elveden goers for years. We'll continue going to Woburn now. Elveden is in desperate need of a refresh, everywhere, especially the villas. Woburn may be small but it's fresh and we found it far easier to get around with our 17 month old

Chienrouge · 27/12/2017 19:02

We’ve been to them all and Woburn is my least favourite! Mine are 4 and 2 and they found the pool a bit small and dull. Also very hilly and not great for bike riding (4 year old struggled up the hills).

Chienrouge · 27/12/2017 19:03

Also been to Whitemead Forest Park and didn’t think there was enough to do.

MoonfaceAndSilky · 07/01/2018 11:18

Yes, Woburn is very hilly. I think Elveden is better for small children.

brizzledrizzle · 07/01/2018 11:21

I'd go for sherwood, I've been to them all except Woburn with toddlers and that's the most suited imo. I went to Woburn and it's not one I'd go to again, its hillier then you'd expect.

underneaththeash · 12/01/2018 21:31

Having been to both several times, I recommend eleveden as PP says it’s flatter and the toddlers pool is much better, it’s also more spread out and outdoor play areas are better for toddlers.

My children are older so we go to Woburn.
