We could afford this - you can book for less than a week, and we couldn't do anything even remotely like it in NZ.

Ds is 4.

Discuss.

Looks like fun. DS to wear lifejacket at all times?

Even in his sleep!

Has anyone done this?

Sorry for the ignorance, but is that the same as a canal boat? If so, I've done that!

I think Tillerman is the brand, it's a narrow boat.

Yep - done that then! Great fun, but can be hard work on the locks. As long as you make sure ds has his life jacket on, youshould be OK. Which canal stretch are you looking at?

Not too worried about ds and falling in - lots worse things in NZ have been successfully negotiated (walks up mountains, holidays by streams etc.)He'll have a lifejacket on.

We're pretty fit so not phased by the locks and we won't be going far as I don't want to "get" anywhere. Just want to be on a boat watching the world go by.

At the moment it's looking like Grand Union Canal at Market Harborough as it's available and affordable.

Not too many locks along there, apart from the Foxton Staircase locks - 10 in a row!!
