Big House Wanted - Any suggestions please? Near Shropshire sleeps 12+ for a week summer 2008.

We are looking to book a large house for a family gathering for 2008. Within 50 miles (1 hour drive of Alton Towers) pref Stafordshire and with a pub locally!

I have been looking for most of the afternoon and have found a couple of places that are very nice with an indoor pool. Heaven for the children and me. Not in the middle of no-where so a short walk to local shops or a pub would be great.

Any suggestions of anywhere you've stayed would be welcome or any good cottage agencies you have used?

...anyone or do you all fly out of the UK?

Any ideas please? Otherwise I am going to have to rob a bank to stay in the one I found !

I've no idea where Staffordshire is (sorry!) but is the Cotswolds too far? I'd recommend The Big Cottage Co, what I thought of it here

Lower Dinchope Big Barn sleeps 15 and is c$1350 in the school holidays (cheaper outside obv)(NB price should be pounds but the key doesn't work )

Bradley in the Moor is 3 miles from Alton Towers, is that too close?
