Title says it all really, we are meeting up with my parents before getting the ferry from Holyhead, need to be at terminal for 2.30. Any suggestions? No special dietary requirements, other than no crap and toddler friendly!

Holyhead is the land that time forgot.

We have never ever seen anywhere decent to have lunch.

Lucycat · 03/04/2007 20:30

Plas Newydd is lovely - my two love the adventure playground in the woods and the cafe is up to NT standards as are the toilets - nice view down the Menai Straits from the lawns as well.

Not sure how long it would take you to get to Holyhead though.

lapsedrunner · 03/04/2007 20:31

Plas Newydd is good.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 03/04/2007 20:33

Sherlock I had suspected that this might be the case

Lucycat we might go there anyway, as staying overnight in Bangor the night before...glad you like it, I thought it looked good

and the road is a good straight one too, full of lorries but good.

Holyhead is very different to the rest of Anglesey we find.

I take it you are going over to Ireland?

we are going to N Ireland on Sunday, but via Scotland!

WideWebWitch · 03/04/2007 20:41

Holyhead is a WEIRD place imo
full of smackheads when we went but maybe it's nicer now.

hermykne · 03/04/2007 20:43

its a funny funny place.

take a picnic.

Lucycat · 03/04/2007 20:47

www - I was being so polite too

but yeh would agree!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 03/04/2007 20:49

Lol at WWW

Hermykne we are having a picnic the day before, when we start our trek across the british isles...

Yes, off to Ireland, my first time we live in the north east so have decided that with 3 yr old DTs we should stop over en route rather than try to get them up and out early on the saturday (and then there's the loo stops...!) we are off to my brother's wedding, his fiancee is Irish, wedding is Easter Monday but we are staying on for a few days on the Wicklow coast with my parents
