There are so many.
Can you narrow it down ?
What do you want to do when you are there?
Are you after a City Break or some mountaineering? A seaside break or something easy to walk to from a train station ?
Do you like the little, isolated, more basic ones or the "fully equipped", modern ones ?
Do you want to self cater or eat out or be fed at the hostel?
How old is/are the child(ren) ? Do you need a family room or happy with a dorm?

Just people's favourites really. Just back from our fourth one which was recommended to us and loved it. I have under 5s. Would prefer England or Wales. It's for planning for next year.

Whitby

I've not experienced it myself but I know that the Bristol one is located right by the harbourside so central for everything.

Harrington Hall in the Peak District is gorgeous. Very old hall in beautiful setting. When we stayed there was a small animal area.

Hartington

The ones in Devon. I'm biased as I'm a supervisor at one of them Grin

I've not stayed there with DC but Castleton looked great for families.

Ilam Hall in the peak district.
Coverack, Cornwall.
Broadhaven sands, Pembrokeshire.
Snowdon.
Wastwater in the lake District.

Have stayed at all the above with kids and enjoyed.

Avoid Bath YHA (Filthy) and St Paul's London (Awful security, our DC witnessed a couple who had just strayed in, having sex in a corridor).
