Suggestions for a campsite that active teenagers would enjoy (but nothing tacky)

We're already going to Cornwall as a family but I'd like somewhere (not too far from central England, upto 3 1/2 hrs) to take my teens for a few days on my own. can anybody think of any campsites or lodge sites that have a lovely atmosphere that would appeal to sporty teens? something unique maybe? Thanks

have a look at PGL. they do family holidays as well as ones just for teens. you could book your teens into one and have a few days nearby on your own.

W went to one in Suffolk that had a lovely river from swimming. I'll try and find it.

I didn't realise PGL did family camps I will take a look, although I don't fancy anything too structured. The Suffolk river swimming one sounds interesting, thanks.

www.outneymeadow.co.uk

Not sure if this is the exact one, but there seem to be loads in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex.

Thanks sittinginthesun, that's certainly the kind of thing I am looking for.

Tattershall lakes nr Lincoln has water based activities along with other outdoor stuff. Check out sites like owners direct for individual lodges, some with hot tubs etc.

Thanks hippyhippyshake will do.

Glanllyn at Bala lake. You can hire canoes and paddle boards on site.

jenthehen · 18/07/2017 17:41

Ooh thanks scurryfunge I'll have a look at that one.

I came on to suggest Clachtoll but it is some way out of your area! It is mentioned as a great place for active teens in the Cool Camping for Kids book. I've been as an adult and it is stunning!

But way too far from you. Sorry.

Wow, that's stunning Stargirl but way too far!
