Going for a quick 4 day getaway from the smoke to Hayling Island. Never been before. What's to do/see? Two teenagers and two adults.
TIA

We got a ferry over to the isle of wright when we stayed on Hayling Island

There is the beach and the fun faire quite a few nice pubs and walks

Otherwise its in to portsmouth for historic dockyards, there is a trampoline park near cosham.

Also Portchester Castle and the Royal Armouries at Fort Nelson are not too far, if you have a car, it's worth driving up and along Portsdown Hill to Fort Nelson just for the view over Portsmouth and the Solent.

There is Flip Out trampoline centre near north harbour. Cinemas in pompey. You've got the ferry over the the Southsea seafront where there's the skate park, aquarium, hovercraft etc. There's hilsea lido on the entrance to pompey.

Mmmm lots of windsurfing etc and water sports there.

Gunwharf as well.

Thanks for the replies so far. Eldest loves water parks - slides, flumes etc is there anything like that in or around Hayling?

Pyramids would be your best bet for slides etc. It's an indoor pool on the Portsmouth seafront. Big snake slide, wave machine etc. There's also the Taro centre in Petersfield which is further afield but has like a whirlpool etc. Nothing in hayling like that though x

There is the pyramid centre at southsea

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/06/2017 00:39

I wouldn't bother with the Taro for teens, it's got one fairly tame flume and a small set of rapids, my DCs grew out of wanting to go there by about age 8. Great for young children though. I've never been to The Pyramids. Hayling itself is pretty quiet, pubs, beaches, walks, mini golf, chip shops etc but no major tourist attractions. Mine like the funfair but it's not huge.

I like Hayling but there isn't a huge amount to do. The fish and chips from the chippy near to the beach are good. Portsmouth is probably your friend here, lots to do and see at Clarence Pier, Pyramid and Southsea, and good restaurants at Port Solent.
