Moving from Ireland; Transfer of maternity benefit

I am in a very difficult siltation and not sure if it is a unique one. My husband is moving from Ireland Rep to London as relocation from employer in few weeks. I am also working but we have now found out that I am pregnant and due in October. It is a fairly new job for me so I will not be entitled for maternity benefit from my employer but I am eligible for maternity pay for six months from state.
If I move to UK with my husband, I will not be able to claim this maternity pay from UK. If I stay, I will struggle to look after children to be on my own.
As I have not worked in UK, I cannot claim maternity benefit but is there a way I can transfer my benefit from Ireland to UK?

I don't know about transferring benefit but could your dh get it covered as part of his relocation package?

Thanks for your reply. No, it will not be covered. He tried.

You might want to try posting in the legal section. They might be able to help.

It's horrible when employers just drop stuff on you and don't care about the fallout Flowers
