1 night's glamping in August? Not for £££

Does anywhere let you do just one night's stay in a treehouse/yurt/cabin/hobbit hole etc.? In August? I found one or two two night minimums, and we could do two nights, but not for £550!

Try the YHA. They have yurts/Bell Tents at various sites. The one I looked at in Treyarnon Bay Cornwall allowed 1 night stays. It's about £129 a night.

other than the YHA you wont find anyone that will give you a one night stay in the height of the season in school summer holidays. why would they risk losing a long booking by taking a one nighter. the best you can hope for is a 2 night minimum stay. They are incredibly expensive because they are a niche market. at the end of the day its camping so personally cannot understand why this appeals but each to their own. you might have more luck with something like a landmark property or even a couple of nights at somewhere like Portmeirion in Wales which would give you a different experience. what is your budget OP?

Landmarks and Portmeirion (and self-catering generally) don't seem to do one or two night stays. And while I'd love to stay in a Landmark, they are ludicrously expensive except in term time in February!

I'm trying to find somewhere that's more fun to stay than a Travelodge, which is our default for a short break. I guess we have about £200 to throw at the accommodation if it's for two nights (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 room).

Have you looked at cool camping.com? Website with loads of camping style sites ie shepherds huts, camping pods etc all over uk so might be good place to start. We booked 2 nights last August in a camping pod at Lanefoot farm in Lake District. Sure it only cost £80 per night for pod. Pretty basic ie cute shed with carpet, light and small heater and electric socket but cosy enough. Would need to take bedrolls/inflatable mattress for comfort. Good location near Keswick and ?Grizedale forest inc. Go Ape.

would you struggle to find a Travelodge for £25 pp per night in August anyway? You could look for a family-type b and b but your budget would be pushing it unless you went inland and somewhere a bit more remote/away from attractions.

would this be enough to cover a VW camper van hire for a couple of nights? never done it myself but seen it on here as something people have done before.
