Within a 2hr ish drive of Merseyside. Anyone know of any hidden gems?
We'll have DD age 7 with us.

Hopeful bump?
I'm thinking somewhere where they have a dog would interest DD.

really, you have left it far too late to find something like this for this Easter. school holidays book up much earlier than they used to because of Gove and banning holidays in term time. quirky and unusual will have been booked up 10-12 months in advance.

your best bet is to go onto cottage websites and look for their last minute deals. theres one called awaywiththekids and also lastminute-cottages but a hidden gem will have gone by now - sorry.

I know, and you're right. We normally go for a week over Easter and book in advance but a bit skint this year, and DD has an event on the Saturday.
Just fancied a night away to break up the long weekend really.

you could pick up a Travelodge type bargain stay somewhere but again it will be a lot more than non Easter weeks. search on latebooking or booking.com and just see if any bargains come up in places that you can combine something interesting to do in the day. Cardiff was surprisingly interesting as is Bristol with @Bristol museum and SS great Britain.
