Are there any self catering or apartment type accommodations to rent for a few nights in Birmingham?

I have a disability so need something near public transport shops etc. Otherwise are there any good B and B's with half board ? Do most B&Bs in Birmingham have a fridge and a kettle. Where can you find cheap but good meals that aren't chain restaurants? Do any community centers serve lunch.
