Lunch near V and A museum

I am taking DD to the V and A on Saturday for a leisurely visit - she is 11, so has more staying power! What are their cafes like? I am assuming very pricey, so would be very grateful for any other cheap and cheerful options locally. I have so far failed to find any on previous visits to the science museum etc.

There is a pain quotidian down the road.
I find the TripAdvisor app us hood you can click "near me now" and it comes up with all nearby options.
Harrods also gas lots of food bars in the food Hall, just a couple of stops. Starbucks everywhere etc

Not sure what time it opens but we went to Verdi in the Royal Albert hall for pizza on Monday. It was gorgeous and reasonably priced too. Would recommend and it is only a 5 minute walk from the V and A.

the v and a cafe is lovely. Set in the most amazingly beautiful room, so well worth having at least a cup of tea there.they do a wide variety of foods from hot lunch to sandwiches,cakes etc. It is a bit pricey though if that is an issue. There are a number of cafes/ restaurants near the tube station, including a great tapas bar (also a bit pricey). Unfortunately it is an expensive area so they are not particularly cheap though cheaper than the v and a. If the weather is nice you could eat a picnic in the v and a courtyard or walk up the road to the park. I am not sure if there is a dedicated inside picnic area to eat your own food in the v and a , I know there is at the Natural History/ Science Museum which is next door.

The area also gets very busy if the weather is nice and you will be lucky to find a place to sit between 1-2 on nice days so you might plan to eat a bit late if that is the case.

I second the V&A cafe, it's a pleasant place and good enough food.

Agree that the V&A cafe is lovely.

However if you walk towards Sth Ken tube, that area has loads of restaurants - several sushi places, Pain Quotidian, Leon, Paul and a Pret a Manger just off the top of my head. And a frozen yoghurt place for dessert.

If you want to buy lunch out near south ken then the cheapest options are Pret A Manger or Wasabi (noodles, sushi, katsu curry etc). Other options include Pain Quotidien as others have said but it's expensive (£15 for sandwich and a coffee per person), or the Brompton Food Market is a cool healthy cafe - again slightly overpriced.

Or take a packed lunch!

Not sure if they are still doing it bit last time we went to science museum in the blue cafe it was kids eat free with every adult meal, DD said it was a lovely burger, I had salad and with drinks it cost under £15.

Thanks, lots of options here! I love Leon too, DD would think that's a great treat. Almost as good as a buffet in an Indian restaurant, but am guessing there aren't too many of those in South Ken.

If you want cake the HUMMINGBIRD BAKERY has a branch, walk down to south Ken and then turn right in front of expensive car showroom. Cake is soooo good there!!!!
