We stayed just outside West Bay (West Dorset Leisure Caravan Park)in west dorset 2 years ago and it was fantastic. In Abbotsbury there is a Swannery, lovely farm with goat races and small animals and lovely tropical gardens.
About 20 miles away is Weymouth which has a sealife centre and lovely sandy beach. We also visited Charmouth along the Chessil coast which is very unspoilt. Lyme Regis is also close lots of pretty tea shops.
I would definitely recommend the area.

Lots of lovely places in Wales. Does it have to be England?

nogoes · 23/02/2007 16:56

Oooh I'm off to Wales in June (Pembrokeshire), Can't wait!

Hi, have you thought about butlins, skegness. My ds's age 4 and 2 love it. Theres bob the builder, a big soft play area, free toddler fun fair rides. Also a creche, so you can get a few hours quiet. Large pool with a gtreat toddlers bit in it, with mini slides and fountains, etc. Outside of butlins, theirs a sea life centre, a farm, beach is 2mins walk from Butlins. But we never got to go, as kids didnt want to leave resort. A cheap, but good holiday

Pembrokshire is great for lo's. The beaches around Tenby are lovley.
You have Folly Farm and the Dinosaur PArk, which are fab for under 10's.

Charleesunnysunsun · 23/02/2007 17:29

Thanks for your suggestions.
Doesn't necissarily have to be England, Wales, Scotland are fine i think Ireland is a bit far as lovley as it is!

I will look around thanks again. xxx

Parkdean caravan parks were very good, we went to cornwall and it was fab, lot of lovely small beaches that usually have a nice family pub and beer garden near them. Lots of small farms and parks. Plus the holiday park does lots of toddler activities.

Definitely the IoW. Loads to do, lovely relaxed pace. You don't even really need to take a car if you don't want to drive.

Isle of Wight!
Took DS last summer when he was almost 4.
Was so much to do and see we didnt do half of it.
We did Blackgang chine, The Needles, Dinosaur Isle but he was most happy on the beach (Sandown) and we stayed there till 7ish most evenings (early July)

Loads more places we wanted to see but ran out of time.

Definitely recommend IOW although we are trying West Bay this time in May (£9.50 Sun holiday....)

Well I can second Tenby ;)

Fab place with loads of stuff to do.

The New Forest is also great - close to the beach, nice woodland walks and streams for picnics, the horses to see wondering about which my DD loved. The otter sanctuary, Southampton zoo, The Victory and other boats at Portsmouth (dd was 4 when she went and is always asking to go back)!

Tamum · 01/03/2007 17:53

I'd second the area around Lyme Regis- loads of stuff to do with toddlers.
