Holiday cottage/lodge Easter break

I'm looking for a seaside location, a few shops, restaurants within walking distance, some tourist attractions/castle/zoo type places close by. Will be travelling by train, I don't drive and don't want to be more than 3 or 4 hrs max from London. I was planning North Berwick but the cottage I wanted is booked and now I'm thinking its a bit far to travel and there may be closer options. £700 is my maximum budget for 1 week, but would prefer cheaper. Can anyone suggest anywhere please?

Try Llandudno. 3 1/2 hours from Euston. Conwy Castle a short bus ride. Colwyn Bay Mountain Zoo not far. Bounce Below is an hour down the very scenic Conwy Valley line and Betws y Coed is halfway. You should get plenty of accommodation at Easter within your price range.
