Which of these Norfolk villages??

I am looking for a last minute Norfolk trip in August and have found self catering cottage options in:

Wells
South Creake
Binham
Or somewhere close ish to Sheringham

Of these places I have only been to Sheringham before (15 years ago!) and although I don't remember it too clearly thought there were some nice pubs / beach areas but some bits were a bit naff (arcades etc) but it may well have changed a lot.

We are a family of 4, the DCs are 4 and 1. We will mostly be going to beach (hopefully) in day, pub lunches, bike rides (?) I don't know what else!! Anyone have any advice on which would suit? Somewhere with a park would be good or maybe that we could easily drive to stuff....I had hoped to get something in Blakeney but it's too late notice as everything is booked and we've only just found out we can go!

Ah maybe they're a bit little. Sherringham Park is really nice though. Hunstanton has a sealife centre and some great beaches if you don't mind a little drive.

Wells it is! I was put off as it's just an apartment in Wells (no outdoor space to eat) but it's right on the sea front so I guess that's nice and there is a balcony! Sounds like there might be more to do in terms of places to eat etc in Wells too?

I like Sheringham, not naff at all. But then I don't mind arcades - It's only got 2 small ones in any case, same as Wells I think.

The tide is often in at Sheringham though so the beach isn't always accessible.

The place I am looking at is on the Quayside in Wells, so hopefully not a long walk to the beach or is it?

I personally quite like arcades ha ha it was my DH who mentioned it. He is a snob ;-)

Yes, it's a long way!

Wells has Holkham beach nearby which is lovely but Wells itself gets pretty packed out in summer especially at weekends / bank hols as everyone drives through Wells to get to Holkham. The beach itself at Holkham is vast and never feels crowded. It is sand, not shingle, and has very shallow water which is also relatively warm and great for paddling. Horse riders like to use the beach too. The car park at Holkham tends to fill up quickly on sunny days, although if you're staying in Wells, I think there's a mini railway that runs part of the way and you can walk the rest.
I don't know South Creake or Binham, sorry. I've only been to Sheringham once and that was on the steam train.

Its probably about 3/4 of a mile to the beach then another 20 mins to get closish to the sea.

There's lots for small kids to do in Wells. It does get busy but I expect the whole area does in summer.

South Creake is pretty and will be quieter but you'd have to drive everywhere.

There's a little road train you could catch to the beach within walking distance of where you're describing in wells.

Wells-next-the-Sea is a bit of a misnomer because the sea is about a mile away.

However, there is a little train that runs to the beach, and there is a large car park, so you can drive there as well.

We loved Wells, and had some lovely meals at a couple of the pubs that are situated round a grassy square.

Mobile data is crap there though.
