Fancy a bit of shopping at Bicester Village and a night away with dp somewhere lovely nearby-anyone know of anywhere?

You mention the Feathers at Woodstock -which is lovely - I've not stayed myself but friends come down from London and stay each year and love it. There is a small spa facility and the food is fantastic too... and it's not too far from Bicester - you can go "across" country to avoid the A34, but I think that the roadworks are currently further south so shouldn't affect you.

My advice on Bicester village - if you can drag yourself out of bed and interrupt your romantic weekend, get there early - it is so nice to have the place almost to yourself!

Crazy Bear is fabulous but not that close to BV IMO. The thai in the Bear Pit is amazing!

Woodstock's lovely too, now I no longer have to do cross country runs round Blenheim LOL.
