We are looking for a weekend away later in the year, we like the thought of Anglesey as it is only about an hour away from where we live, lovely beaches, peace and quiet away from the little ones (who will be away with the Grandparents).
We want somewhere with a little bit of atmosphere, cafe's restaurants etc and with a good long beach to go for walks.
From my limited research, I think we are looking for the South East region, Beaumaris, Benllech, Red Wharf Bay, Menai etc. But i was wondering if anyone has any other recommendations or tips.
I know the island is small so wherever we end up will be no problem as we can just jump in the car. But it would be good to park the car for the weekend and just mooch.
Ultimately however,, we are going there to scout out the region. We are seriously considering a bolt hole property that we can disappear to for the weekend and for holidays with the kids whilst they are still young, and as an investment for when they (and we!) are older. We love the look and feel of the region, but i have only been once (Rhosneigr - although that is further north of the island). So for the next couple of years until we can afford the outlay we are going to holiday there and go for weekends as much as possible.
So really i am looking for all kinds of recommendations, pro's and cons, places you love, places that are not worth going to etc.
Thanks in advance
