We're looking for a holiday park with an indoor pool for a week in the summer and came across Auchenlarie. Has anyone been? If so, what is it like for two little ones (4 and 2?) Any info will be much appreciated!

I went a couple of years ago and I absolutely loved it. DS was 3.5 and it was perfect for young children. The beach is just a small bay but lovely for either sandcastles or getting some of those little cheap fishing nets and scouring the rockpools- its very sheltered too. Gorgeous view, pool is nice and everything is very clean, theres also a softplay if the weather isnt great.

I think the biggest struggle for me is that it is on quite a steep hill, so its hard work walking up and down to the shop/ pool etc.

One of the things I really loved is that there are wild rabbits hopping about all over the place- so sweet!

If you have a car there are lots of lovely little towns/villages round about- Castle Kennedy and Gatehouse of Fleet are nice.

I didnt make much use of the bar/ evening entertainment so cant comment on that but I really couldn't fault the place otherwise.

That's really useful information, thanks - I doubt we'll be using the entertainment either (antisocial!). I think it's the front runner at the moment.

I'm a bit antisocial as well!

Should also mention the restaurant on site is nice too- I found it reasonably priced and tasty, staff are lovely as well!

Shop onsite is quite expensive- we did a shop at nearest Tesco and took it with us.
