Nice lunch north of Birmingham near motorways

I'm meeting my mum and dad for lunch on Easter Monday, we coming from Newbury, they are coming from Lancaster, so somewhere north of Birmingham seems to be about half way. They'll be 4 adults and a 7 yr old. Can anyone recommend anywhere nice for lunch? I'm thinking nice family pub, national trust place, very nice garden centre or similar. Any nice ideas would be very helpful

Also Webbs garden centre near Droitwich is lovely and very close to the M5. It has a big cafe, play area, riverside walks etc. Although it's South of Birmingham rather than North.

Tamworth Castle which has a playground, shops and river walk and is just off the M42 (nothing to do at the Belfry btw)
There is a quite big a Dobbies Garden Centre near the NEC just off the M42.
