Just booked a proper last minute holiday to bluestone...going tomorrow, any tips?!

Never been before but had heard of it as an alternative to centre parcs. Wondering if there are a couple of toys/books in the lodges for kids or if I need to pack some?

We have a 2 yr old and 7 month old. Any advice you think would be useful, please share! Thanks

You'll need to pack some toys/books. Also pack waterproofs & wellies!
Worth stopping at a supermarket on your way there (several large supermarkets around the Carmarthen exits) as the on site shop is very expensive and not a great deal of choice. Make plenty of use of the swimming pool. You can hire bikes with trailers to carry the little ones, or you can hire a golf buggy (which we thought was a bit overkill - nowhere is that difficult to walk or cycle to!)
Very close to most local attractions including Folly Farm and Manor House Wildlife Park if you're looking for a day out somewhere (although check opening times at this time of year!) Lots of lovely beaches nearby if you want to brave a wet & windy walk!

We go every summer. I book a click and collect at Carmarthen's Tesco. They've got a little unit so you can just pull up, pop your bags in the boot and drive away.
We go swimming every morning with DCs. We normally get their early as it's quiet. It opens to the public at 11 and can often get busy.
Book any activities fairly early as they can fill up quickly.
Their takeaway service is reasonably priced, they've now got a fish and chip van that looks good too.
We've always had a golf buggy as we've been a fair way from the 'village'
The lodge has wifi so we've taken our laptop and connected the tv up to Netflixs and sky. They've also got a DVD player. DS1 was in a phase of waking up at 5am when we first went and the DVD player was a godsend.

Thank you both! Thankfully have packed pretty much everything you've suggested. It's ridiculous how much stuff we have but such is life with two small people in tow.

We had a great time (although not really relaxing obviously with two small children!). How old are your kids? Our toddler loved the pool (not as big as centre parcs), the lodge was fab and customer service was excellent.

Book up any activities you're keen on early, especially if you're going in school hols. We didn't hire a golf buggy but they looked quite fun. It's totally doable to walk everywhere but a buggy would have saved time-our toddler managed 20 mins walking to the pool but we could have got there in 5 with a buggy! We saw a little show one evening in the wild wood cafe which was quite sweet. they bring a platter of good out after.

I'm trying to think what else would be useful for you. If you have very small ones, take along their plastic cutlery/cups.

Check in/out was painless. Have your booking number ready and it's like a drive through check in. You unload then park your car in the long stay car park.

Thanks! Glad you had fun. She is almost 3, have booked her a could of crèche sessions. Decided to hire a golf buggy as am 28 weeks pregnant and achey. We go on Monday!
