Cheap Self catering in South Wales in summer school holidays

Please does anyone have any tips for finding cheap self catering in South Wales for a week in July/August? I'm not fussy - cottage, caravan, etc. Don't need posh. Looking online a lot are £500-£1000 for the week which is too much for me.

2 adults 2 kids if it makes a difference!

Thanks.

£500 for a week for 4 in summer holidays is really as cheap as you'll get.

How about camping?

Where abouts in South Wales are you looking?

if £500 a week for 4 of you is too much then I don't really know what you are going to find. this equates to £17 per person per night which will just about get you a camping pitch but nothing else. sorry, not trying to be negative but school summer hols prices are getting worse and worse due to the Gove effect on supply and demand. hope you find something.

How about a youth hostel? They do private rooms and are very family friendly. You'd have to book quickly for the school holidays in the popular places.

Thanks all, found some places in budget from Air BnB (great site, had heard of it but never been there before!)
