Any recommendations of things to do, nice places to eat etc would be very welcome. Dcs 7 and 9.

Number 1 on my list is Osborne House. We have NT and EH membership so will explore many things that way. Are there any other 'must see' places.

I like the Taverners in Godshill for a nice pub lunch. Island Gems, across the road, do fossil walks which are great value for money - £12 for a family of 5, I think. You have to book in advance, but it was a lovely, informative 2 hour guided walk. The guide showed us dinosaur footprints, and helped us find various fossils, including bits of dinosaur bone.

The Fossil thing looks fantastic, thank you. Right up our street.
