Where to stay in Dorset?

Can anyone recommend any houses or cottages to rent in the Dorset area?
Which areas are nice to visit? We've never been before but like visiting Southwold and Norfolk. Wondered if there was anywhere similar?

I would go Lyme Regis especially if it won't be school holidays. Or Burton Bradstock.

Do you want beach, rolling hills or both?
The countryside around Bridport is lovely, very Hardyesque. Have a look at Powerstock. Or the area around Durdle Door.
