Hi, can anyone recommend a hotel or cottage near the beach in Ireland?

Many years ago, we stayed at this lovely hotel in a breathtaking lake-side setting, Gougane Barra, in West Cork.

Even if you don't want to go there, DO have a look at the pictures on the website, under the ATTRACTIONS tab!

Kelly's Hotel Rosslare.
On the beach.
Family run hotel.
Expensive
Amazing food.
Really child friendly.

Banna beach in Kerry

Or go to Airbnb, put in your dates and tick 'near beach' there's a wealth of beautiful houses with sea views

Ireland is quite big. Do you want to be more specific? How many people is it for, for a start?

(Also, its not in the UK. This is the UK topic)

Do you want to stay in Northern Ireland which is in the UK or the Republic or Ireland, which is another country?

Wild west coast or calmer east coast?

Needs to be near airport, or driving/ferry? Or happy to drive once arrive on the island of Ireland?

Adults only, with small DCs, with teenagers, a mix of DCs, elderly relatives?

Needs food options locally (pubs and/or fine dining?) or you want to cook at home yourselves a lot? Takeaways? Cafes for daytime? Naice delis for picnics or basic supermarkets?

Based in 1 place but want to see things locally (trips), spend all the time on 1 beach, or travel around to a few places (different beds)?

Activities? Day trips? Water sports? Bicycle friendly? Pet friendly? Heritage? Other sports? Mountains and walking?

There's a LOT to consider before giving recommendations (for me at least!)
