I'll be in Ventor , Isle of Wight for my 40th. Please can someone local recommend a semi decent restaurant / pub to go to. I've tried researching online but a locals point of view would be far better. Thanks

The Spyglass is a cosy pub on the front. The location is great

The Hamborough lost its Michelin star a while back but might have improved

The MET bar on the seafront does lovely tapas and has a great view of the sea.

There's a lovely restaurant in Ventnor that looks like a bit like a cinema from the outside called 'Rex Piano Bar'. The food is nice, there's also a piano player on some nights. Lovely sea views if you get a the right table too.

The boatshed café is a bit of a walk down the hill but the shellfish menu is lovely for lunch. It's rustic but nice. The crab is freshly caught each day.

There's a pub restaurant at Niton or was it Rookley called the Black Lion, the food is nice but not particularly fancy.

Crab and Lobster is a pub that sells a lot of seafood but it's kind of been over done.

Baywatch on the Beach at Bembridge on the east of the Isle of Wight is a café at lunch and restaurant at night. It's great. If you don't mind not eating in Ventnor for one evening.
