Help me find a holiday location please

Struggling on where to go. Will be my husband, my 2 year old and me plus possibly my mum. Here is my wish list;

Near a beach (preferable a Cornwall / south Wales style cove beach rather than a seafront like Bournemouth but not Cornwall or south Wales as been there recently)

Near stuff for a toddler to do if it rains.

Near stuff I like so castles, stately homes, walks, nice scenery, cute villages for a wander around etc

Preferably uk as dh doesn't like flying.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Isle of Wight has all of that. Lots if different types of beach, Osborne House, Carisbrook Castle. There a very basic dinosaur museum but mine loved it as toddlers. There also a big indoor play place. Also the little steam train is good in a rainy day.

I'd suggest North Norfolk which has all the above, but no beachy coves... Just miles and miles of wide sandy beaches for running and running and running (that's if you're 2!). Also brilliant for flying kites.

There's a tank museum, the Wells -Walsingham railway, a dinosaur park, bird watching. I could go on.

Also one of the driest places in the UK.

Northumberland

Scarborough is a lovely cove and you can combine it with York etc. However, if you like a castle go to Northumberland. Can't beat Bamburgh, Warkworth etc. Stately homes like Wallington and Cragside.Stay in Alnmouth, the perfect seaside vilage for kids. It's not a cove but it's stunning and has delis cafes , playgroundetc.

Northern Wales has beautiful beaches and plenty to do for little ones. Where-abouts are you based? Could be quite a journey regardless of whether you stay in the UK!

Dorset pretty much covers all of it, just avoid Bournemouth, Swanage and Weymouth sea fronts

Croyde North Devon? Beautiful beach, you can drive to lots of attractions, swimming pool at the big caravan site you can use. We love it there

Isle of Man? Go by ferry, 2 great castles, lots of walking, sandy beaches, trains, trams ...

Ishouldcocoa can you recommend any holiday parks/campsites in North Norfolk? It's somewhere I've never been and keep hearing how lovely it is.

I am based in the south of England but we have family and friends dotted all over the place so will probably break the journey by visiting one if them so a bit of a distance is fine

I would second (or is it third?) Northumberland as it would seem to tick most of your boxes (though I do have a soft spot for Scarborough)

We had a long weekend in the Isle of Man recently. Very nice for a short break but TBH I think if you went for a week you would struggle to find things to do if you got more than about two days of rain

I agree with Dorset.

Although with a 2yo it would a shame not to take him to Weymouth beach. It's a great beach for small children.

Apologies Princess for not getting back sooner. We usually stay in a cottage, but in terms of location, any of these would be worth a look...
