Recommendations for family days near Woolacombe?

We're heading off for a family holiday to Woolacombe in the next few weeks - we don't often have holidays so I'm hoping to fill it with brilliant stuff.

Does anyone have recommendations for days out or fun things to do in that part of Devon? We've never been before and we have a pre-schooler, and I'm heavily pregnant with DC#2 so I can't surf or do anything too energetic Smile

If the weather is nice, you won't want to leave the beach!

There's loads for small children: Big Sheep at Bideford, Lynton and Lynmouth cliff railway fascinate little ones, walks on Braunton Burrows to Crow Point (via Squires fish and chips in Braunton) to start you off?

Barnstaple market is lovely (Boston Tea Party a lovely child-friendly café)

Take wellies and waterproofs, and the beach will appeal, whatever the weather. Also explore Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton.

Watermouth castle

You can use Tesco Days Out vouchers at The Big Sheep and Exmoor Zoo, so if you have any Clubcard points you could get them changed up. Just seen the post date is 2 June though, so you may be already there Grin.

Woolacombe Beach itself is lovely.

Watermouth Castle is great for kids. Quince Honey Farm at South Molton is good for a rainy day (not as manic as Funderzone in Barnstaple).
